About the job

Lidköping municipality wants to increase opportunities for social, physical, and cognitive activities for the elderly.

For a couple of years now, we have had two activity pedagogues employed and need to complement with more. Through an extra initiative focused on preventing and breaking unwanted loneliness and social exclusion, we are now looking for a driven activity pedagogue for our special accommodations (housing for the elderly and people with dementia) as well as our respite care.

The purpose is to make the elderly's lives more stimulating and meaningful. To motivate and inspire the elderly to engage, both individually and in groups. The goal is a salutogenic and rehabilitative approach where the individual's abilities are utilized and the healthy aspects are highlighted. It is important for both physical and mental health to stay active throughout life.

Job responsibilities

You will work at our special accommodations, which are spread across different locations in the municipality, as well as at our respite care. The work is varied and places great emphasis on your creativity and your responsiveness to the elderly's wishes and conditions. Planning is required to carry out the various activities, and it is important to build relationships and have good collaboration with other staff (care staff, activity representatives, unit managers, and activity coordinators).

This may involve small activities with individuals who do not want or are unable to socialize in large groups. Other times it may involve creating, participating in games and competitions, singing and music, and creating natural meeting points in everyday life at the accommodation.

Our operations are constantly developing and changing based on our users' needs. Working hours may be scheduled during the day but also in the evenings and on weekends.

Who are you

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education as an activity pedagogue, leisure leader, health pedagogue, or other specialist training that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You are proactive and good at coming up with new ideas and independently driving ideas to goals. You contribute with your positive energy and have a good attitude. You have a salutogenic approach, where you empathetically support users in making their lives understandable, manageable, and meaningful. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with post-secondary education as an activity pedagogue, leisure leader, health pedagogue, or other specialist training that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with similar activities or operations.
• You need to master Swedish well, both spoken and written, and be comfortable with digital technology.
• You need to have the ability to work both independently and in a group and have the ability to plan, implement, and analyze activities within given time frames.
• A driver's license is required as we operate in both the city center and the countryside in Lidköping.

Conditions

We are looking for two activity pedagogues for permanent positions. Full-time with a start date by agreement. Working hours may be scheduled during the day but also in the evenings and on weekends.
